Predicting WFH Transitions After COVID-19!

The majority of companies across the globe have implemented the WFH policy following the global pandemic, Covid-19. Although the virus fear is fading away slowly, WFH can result in a sustainable shift in the working patterns of every employee. But at the same time, one cannot overlook the fact that many organizations are also cracking at the edge. However, it can be easily tackled with the help of technological advances such as HR and payroll software, robust HRIS software, and what not.

In India, more than 4 million employees are working from home today and approximately 30 percent of them will be permanently doing the same after the pandemic as well. Initially, WFH created a lot of hassle within a large segment of workforces. But now, when every other individual is following this policy, companies are adopting this new reality sportingly.

Virtual meetings and no commuting has completely changed the way people worked. With that being said, it is a myth that people are less productive while working remotely. All these strong winds of transition have reformed the exact picture of business processes, and these changes can be permanent, too.

So, here are some emerging trends as a way forward for Work From Home:

Formalization & Policies For WFH

The whole WFH and its transitions happened so suddenly that most of the policies were formed and implemented when companies were not at all not prepared. As a result, many such policies are functioning with zero outcomes and hence, no revenues.

So, the very first thing most firms will do post-COVID-19 is relooking the lack of remote working facilities. It may include the smallest details such as, what should be the ideal response rate for every conversation while working remotely? Furthermore, companies will also consider implementing software such as HR and simple payroll software for smooth communication across the virtual workforce and figuring out safe methods for accessing data while working from home.

Comfortable WFH Space

A positive and comfortable working environment is one of the most essential factors for better productivity, be it at the office or home. Today, every employee has managed to adjust to a work setup or arrangement at his/her home. But, this won’t help in the long run. That means employees will not just have to create a workspace for themselves but also require adequate resources to work from home efficiently. For a functional workspace, one can create a space in the house with comfortable seating and a spacious table.  Besides these, equipment such as laptops, ACs, and others also make WFH much more comfortable.

More Empathy

WFH has made various things normal such as having a team meeting with your dog jumping next to you or your kid doing his or her homework beside you. It has not just brought people closer but also increased empathy. In this case, companies should further prepare for numerous healthcare policies as well as consider pandemics like these for their line of employees. Employers should also plan empathetic policies to manage mental health and stress levels of their workforce.

These are some ways in which the evolution of WFH will happen post COVID-19 pandemic!
